This is one of the most popular beaches and has plenty of parking available. The beach is located mid-island in Sanibel. We got two sunsets for the price of one at Bowman’s Beach. There is a tranquil feeling and a feeling of peace when the sun rises and sets. If anybody knows me, I love sunrises and sunsets. Didn’t have time to stay long but we just wanted to walk off lunch and see the water. Finding a parking spot was a feat in itself. The beach was clean with white sand and crystal blue waters. Everywhere you turned there were old toys and memorabilia. In fact, it is probably the most famous restaurant on the Island. We arrived on Captiva Island around lunchtime and were told about The Bubble Room. You can’t go wrong with Hampton Inn and it includes free breakfast. It was central to Fort Myers, Sanibel Island, and Captiva Island. It wasn’t on the island and you had to pay the toll to get on the island but what we saved by staying at the gateway was worth it.
